Every model is completely handcrafted with polymer clay by the artist behind Model Idols – Raymond Berry.
Every model created uses clay throughout the whole process including all the mixing of colours even down to the highlights in the eyes and all the features of the face - there is no painting involved with one or two exceptions (where applicable) in the applying of gold or silver effects.
All the clothes to dress the model are created in the same process but occasionally a figure may require a glittered dress and this effect is achieved by varnishing the required area and then sprinkling glitter. Some models may require some ornate form of dress such as a feather boa or fur edged coat and although the clay could be formed to create the effect the use of trimmed marabou is far more effective and realistic. Many of the models wear jewelry and specialist glass, diamante and beads are used. Some models, where appropriate have furniture accessories in 1/12 scale.
There are no moulds used which in turn makes every model an absolutely unique design and becomes a one of its kind original. To ensure this, every model has a serial number on its base which corresponds with the Certificate of Authentication accompanying the model.
